Andrew has many years of experience teaching in a variety of environments and for a wide range of students of all backgrounds. Andrew was the music specialist at M.D Fox elementary in inner city Hartford, CT where he was responsible for over 27 different classes of general music students each week. There, he organized, rehearsed, and executed school wide concerts involving over 700 children. As well as being in the public school, Andrew maintained an active schedule of private students in Hartford, as well as a consistent schedule of professional gigs.
After moving to the bay area, Andrew established himself as a private music instructor and freelance musician. His students have gotten accepted to places such as School of the Arts in San Francisco and to the Peninsula Youth Orchestra in San Mateo. Many of his older students have moved on to become gigging musicians, or have been able to discover their own identities as musicians and creators.
Andrew himself is also a busy professional musician. He has performed with bands for sold out shows at the Regency Ballroom, the Fox Theatre and the Independent as well as the Symbiosis Festival, Outside Lands Music Festival, and has toured throughout the US coasts and Mexico. Currently, you can find him most Sunday nights at Revolution Cafe in The Mission playing Balkan Accordion.
Andrew has a B.Mus in Music Education from the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT with an emphasis in Instrumental Performance. He continues to go deeper into his practice, playing and writing in a myriad of styles.
